Abstract

Metta Maitreya Vocational School students are interested in Python programming but still lack understanding due to the difficulty of digesting it only through textual learning. Therefore, a game-based learning system with a desktop system is needed to help understand the Python programming language with the help of Godot Engine, Visual Studio Code and Canva. The purpose of this study is to prove that the existence of gamebased learning and to know the results of the implementation of game-based learning to improve programming literacy through visual interaction increases students' interest in Python. The method for developing game-based learning to improve programming literacy through visual interaction is the ADDIE method which consists of 5 stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. The results of the study show that game-based learning to improve programming literacy through visual interaction was successfully built and implemented with the results of functionality that has run 100% as expected. Also, the average user agrees that game-based learning helps in improving programming literacy, especially the Python programming language through visual interaction and evaluation shows that users are helped by the presence of game-based learning to improve programming literacy through visual interaction.
